Witch-Hunting Allegations: Helen Ukpabio And Daughter Sue Singer, Bloody Civilian, Demand N200bn As Damages

Evangelist Helen Ukpabio, the popular Akwa Ibom based cleric, and her daughter, Imaobong Elijah, have dragged Nigerian singer, Emoseh Khamofu, aka Bloody Civilian, to court.

They filed a lawsuit against Bloody Civilian over ‘reckless, satanic, and libelous posts’, demanding N200bn for damages.

Mrs Ukpabio is the founder and pastor of the Liberty Gospel Church.

Bloody Civilian accused the preacher of inciting violence against children, stating that she “literally made people burn their children alive”

Bloody Civilian made the allegations while responding to a post celebrating Pastor Ukpabio’s 60th birthday.

Reacting to the renewed attack against her mother on X, Imaobong, a journalist, gave the singer a five-hour ultimatum to take down the post.

She claimed that she grew up being traumatised by the constant allegations against her mother.

In a letter from their legal team, Victor Ukut & Co, seen on Sunday, November 24, 2024, mother and daughter demanded that the singer immediately retract the false libelous publications and tender a public apology.

The apology, according to the letter, should be published in ten Nigerian national dailies and international news media like CNN, Aljazeera, Fox News.

The retraction of the false libelous publications should also be published on the internet via her social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter).
