Mavin Record label boss Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy during a recent conversation on the popular microblogging platform X with a fan disclosed why he stopped doing giveaways online.
The renowned music producer stated that his decision to stop was prompted by criticism from people on X, who were also calling for the act to be banned.
Don Jazzy revealed this in response to a fan who suggested that the hardship in the country is likely the reason he has not been giving out money as he used to.
According to a netizen known as Temi, when times were better, Don Jazzy would give N200,000 each to 10 people. Those in the crypto or tech fields were often particularly fortunate, as he had a soft spot for them.
The post reads; “When things still good, @DONJAZZY go Don give like 10 people 200k each. If you con talk one thing about his artiste Wey burst his head. Na like 500k. If you con like tech or crypto, forget na 1m.”
In response, the music mogul noted that his financial situation is still good. However, he believed that Nigerians on X agreed it was best for him to discontinue the giveaways. Don Jazzy wrote:
“GOD dey so things good. But I thought all of us on twitter agreed that I should stop doing giveaway. Say make them bandam 🤷🏾♂️.”
