HACEY Health Initiative is a registered non-governmental, development organization with a mission to create a healthy and sustainable society through capacity development, advocacy, research, and education. Since 2007, HACEY has developed multiple interrelated interventions on maternal and sexual and reproductive health programming, education, knowledge and skills transfer, service delivery and advocacy programs for the under-served, and leveraging on media, innovation and technology to accelerate the impact of our interventions and ensuring no one gets left behind.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Surulere, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Officer.
  • The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing financial statements, organization and project budgeting, conducting financial analysis, financial reporting, and communication related to finance.
  • The role will be based in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, account reconciliations and general ledger entries.
  • Manage daily activities of the finance unit by monitoring the progress of work, follow up on outstanding tasks and ensuring closed tasks are properly communicated and closed to the satisfaction of all.
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Manage accounting and financial systems and ensure full and accurate accounting records.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements.
  • Provide financial and accounting advice, guidance, and direction.
  • Respond to auditors’ concerning finances and operations;
  • Develop and manage monthly and annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax agencies and other key regulatory bodies including necessary reporting, filing and compliance standards
  • Prepare monthly management reports and provide advice for cost savings and decision making.
  • Perform physical verification of assets at least twice year to ensure that all assets are accurately recorded.
  • Manage project budgeting, financial transactions and reporting.

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • ICAN / ACCA an added advantage

Required Skills:

  • Experience working in a nongovernmental organization is important
  • Must have knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven experience using Zoho Books and Zoho Expense
  • Strong financial statements and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement
  • Proficiency in budgeting and finance-related tasks
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance

Salary
N250,000 – 275,000 monthly
