Celebrity Showdown: Davido Takes Sophia Momodu to Court in Custody Battle Over Their Daughter

Nigerian music star Davido has taken Babymama Sophia Momodu to the Lagos State High Court over the custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
In the suit, Davido beseeched the Court to order the joint custody of Imade, with Sophia Momodu.

He also urged the court to give an order that will grant him unfettered and unrestricted access to Imade.
The award-winning singer added that his romantic relationship with Momodu, which led to the birth of Imade, ended many years ago, yet he continued to provide all necessary payment for the well-being of the child.

He mentioned that he has been responsible for the payment of all the school fees of Imade and also has been providing money for the rent of the apartment in which Momodu lives with their daughter.

However, despite all his fatherly responsibilities to his daughter, he noted, Momodu made unreasonable demands to frustrate him.

He said that Momodu turned down his offer of a N200m worth apartment in a condominium gated community with a swimming pool and 24-hour power and water supply at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The suit read, “The respondent rejected the offer to stay and live at the above-described secured Oniru apartment, which had been purchased already, but demanded that I continue to pay N5,000,000 annually for a rented facility as my own contribution towards my daughter’s accommodation.”

Davido also noted that he bought a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle for the use of the child and the respondent to meet the transport needs, including transportation of the child to and from school, yet his efforts were frustrated.
