The Moms Nurture Nest Foundation is an innovative non-governmental organization situated in Nigeria, with a strong dedication to assisting Mothers throughout their journey of motherhood. We are dedicated to reducing the prevalence of postpartum depression and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable transition into motherhood. Our community of experienced mothers offers a wide range of services aimed at educating, empowering, and providing psycho-social support.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Social Media Officer to join our team.
This is a new and exciting role that is both creative and strategic.
You will lead the NGO’s social media presence and expertise to deliver impactful content on all our channels and explore new opportunities to reach our audiences.
If you’re passionate about using your skills to raise funds for our NGO and have great ideas on how to demonstrate the impact of our work, we’d love to hear from you! As part of a small, successful core team, you will collaborate with other colleagues. Provides opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive and productive environment.

Required Experience & Skills

Diploma or Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field
At least two (2) years or more experience in a Media & Communication department is preferred.
Proven experience or being a member of an effective communication team, impact storytelling, and development journalism.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and related media packages
Experience creating content for digital publishing formats and/or platforms, including adapting briefing notes, press releases, and speeches for social media and/or websites, is required.
Experience in digital photography/video is an added advantage.
Experience in graphic design and/or desktop publishing utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and/or comparable computer software is desirable.
Experience in video editing utilizing Adobe Premiere and/or comparable computer software is desirable.
Outstanding knowledge of best practices in communication and branding
Advanced knowledge and experience in social media marketing and engagement
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.

Time Requirement:

10 -15 hours per week.
Initial commitment of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement and need.

Remuneration

Please note that this is a volunteer position and will not offer monetary compensation at this time, as our organization is in its initial stages. However, successful candidates will have the invaluable opportunity to gain significant knowledge and experience that can serve as a steppingstone in their career path
As our organization grows and secures funding, there may be potential for paid opportunities within the organization for qualified candidates who have demonstrated dedication and skill during their volunteer tenure.
